Step 1 — 빈칸 뒤에 S + V (절) → 접속사

Step 2 — 빈칸 뒤에 명사/동명사 → 전치사

Step 3 — 빈칸 앞에 마침표/세미콜론 → 접속부사

전치사: despite, in spite of + 명사 Despite the heavy rain, the event was held.

접속사: although, even though + S+V Although it rained heavily, the event was held.

접속부사: however, nevertheless + 문장 It rained heavily; however, the event was held.

전치사: because of, due to, owing to + 명사 The delay was due to bad weather.

접속사: because, since, as + S+V Because it rained, the event was canceled.

접속부사: therefore, consequently, thus + 문장 It rained; therefore, the event was canceled.
