부정어 도치 예시 • Hardly had the policy been announced when protests erupted. • Never has the government faced such a crisis. • Not only did the agency fail, but it also misled the public. • Seldom does the committee meet on weekends.

강조구문 (It is ... that) It was the minister that proposed the reform. (주어 강조) It was in 2020 that the law was enacted. (시간 강조) It was not until the scandal that the public noticed. (부정 강조)

강조구문 확인법 It is/was와 that을 빼도 문장이 완전하면 강조구문 → The minister proposed the reform. ✅ (완전한 문장)

비교 구문: 원급 as + 형용사/부사 원급 + as The new policy is as effective as the previous one.

비교 구문: 비교급 형용사/부사 + -er / more + than This approach is more efficient than the traditional method. ⚠ more + -er (more better) 중복 사용 불가

비교 구문: 최상급 the + -est / most + 형용사/부사 This is the most significant reform in decades.

비교 구문: 배수 비교 배수 + as ... as / 배수 + 비교급 + than The budget is three times as large as last year's. = The budget is three times larger than last year's.
