핵심 규칙 other는 형용사입니다 뒤에 반드시 명사가 와야 합니다

✅ 올바른 사용 Other candidates will be interviewed next week.

❌ 틀린 사용 I talked to other. 명사 없이 단독 사용 불가!

주어·목적어 자리에 쓰려면 others(대명사)를 써야 합니다.

한 눈에 보는 other 계열 5형태

another + 단수명사 불특정 하나 더 — Send another copy.

other + 복수/불가산명사 다른 (형용사) — Other candidates were rejected.

the other + 단수/복수 나머지 특정 — One is here; the other is there.

others (대명사, 명사 없이 단독) 불특정 나머지들 — Some agreed; others didn't.

the others (대명사, 명사 없이 단독) 나머지 전부 — Three are done; the others need work.

빈칸 뒤만 보면 답이 보입니다

판별 공식 ① 빈칸 뒤에 명사 있음 → another(단수) / other(복수) / the other ② 빈칸 뒤에 명사 없음 → others / the others (대명사) ③ 나머지 전부 = the others, 나머지 일부 = others

패턴 1: 빈칸 + 복수명사 _____ employees must complete the training. → 뒤에 employees(복수명사) → 형용사 Other

패턴 2: 빈칸이 주어/목적어 Some reports have been filed, but _____ still require signatures. → 뒤에 명사 없음 + 불특정 나머지 → 대명사 others

패턴 3: another + 단수 We need to schedule _____ meeting. → meeting(단수) 앞 → another ⚠️ another + 숫자 + 복수명사도 가능! We need another three days.
