FANBOYS, 종속접속사, 상관접속사를 정리합시다!

등위접속사 FANBOYS For: 이유 → I stayed home, for it was raining. And: 그리고 → I study and work. Nor: ~도 아닌 → I don't smoke, nor do I drink. But: 그러나 → I tried, but I failed. Or: 또는 → Study hard, or you will fail. Yet: 그러나 → It's small, yet comfortable. So: 그래서 → I was tired, so I slept.

종속접속사 시간: when, while, before, after, until, since, as soon as 이유: because, since, as, now that 조건: if, unless, provided (that), as long as 양보: although, though, even though, while, whereas 목적: so that, in order that 결과: so ~ that, such ~ that

상관접속사 both A and B: A와 B 둘 다 either A or B: A 또는 B 둘 중 하나 neither A nor B: A도 B도 아닌 not only A but also B: A뿐만 아니라 B도 not A but B: A가 아니라 B

unless = if ~ not Unless you study, you will fail. = If you don't study, you will fail.

💡 unless는 이미 부정 의미 포함 ❌ Unless you don't study (이중부정)

so ~ that vs such ~ that so + 형용사/부사 + that: He was so tired that he fell asleep. such + (a/an) + 명사 + that: It was such a cold day that we stayed home.

💡 so 뒤에는 형용사/부사, such 뒤에는 명사(구)
